INCI: Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil
Avocado butter will contribute slightly to the firmness of the final bar of soap, but because it’s not an extremely firm butter it does not firm the soap like coconut oil, palm oil, wax or cocoa butter. It also isn’t going to contribute much to lather which is why my preference is to use it at a lower usage rate.
Avocado butter is a versatile ingredient in cosmetics due to its rich composition and numerous benefits. Here are some of the key uses of avocado butter in cosmetic formulations:
Deep Moisturization: Avocado butter’s high oleic acid content deeply penetrates the skin, providing intense hydration and protecting against dryness. It’s ideal for treating dry patches, flaky skin, and eczema-prone areas without clogging pores.
Antioxidant Defense: Rich in vitamins A, D, and E, avocado butter helps fight free radicals, promoting skin elasticity, reducing fine lines, and supporting collagen production.
Soothing and Calming: Its anti-inflammatory properties make avocado butter suitable for sensitive skin, helping to soothe irritation and reduce redness.
Skin Barrier Function: Avocado butter’s linoleic acid and lecithin content are essential for maintaining a healthy skin barrier, protecting against environmental stressors like pollution and wind.
Natural Glow: The chlorophyll content in avocado butter gives it a green hue, contributing to a natural radiance and enhancing the skin’s glow.
